It's been awhile.....

I know it's been awhile y'all! I apologize! Like I have mentioned before, I don't think there's lots of people reading it anyway....so it's not that big of a deal....Right??? I hope not! I have been busy with work (as usual). I have also had the flu the last 3 or 4 days...which was not too much fun!!!! I did get to miss work, but I was so miserable that I would have rather been there than at home sick!

In other news......
My BFF/Partner-in-crime/Sanity checker is back in business!!! YAY! Rebecca, my beloved co-worker, is back from maternity leave and I couldn't be happier! She is doing great and the little one is growing like a weed! She has been gone since the beginning of December....so I have missed her tons!

I have mentioned this little girl before (http://awfreeman.blogspot.com/2009/02/please-pray.html). Her name is Cora and she recently passed away due to a VERY short battle with cancer. She wasn't even a year old yet! This little girl didn't even know me (nor do I know her or her family) and she has made such an impact on me. I was tremendously saddened by the news of her death and even more so by the way she passed! Her family has come together beautifully and started to make different things (mainly children's clothing) and sell them on ETSY (which is a FABULOUS thing...if you haven't seen it yet....please do). All proceeds from Cora's Etsy pieces goes into the Cora's Playground Fund. The first night the store was open they COMPLETELY sold out of everything! They are in the process of making new stuff....it may take a little while because everything is hand-made. I will be picking some things out for Ella for SURE! Check it out please: www.coras.etsy.com
(P.S.---Continue to pray for this young family....Cora would have been ONE year last week.....I know it's been hard on them!)

I have one more thing to blab about.....My devotional book! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! One of my best friends from high school, Andrea, told me about it and I ordered it last year! I started it when the new year came and I really enjoy it! It's called "Diamonds in the Dust" by Joni Eareckson Tada. She is a really inspirational woman with a powerful message. She conveys the messages day-by-day throughout this book and it's GREAT! I suggest everyone try it!

Love y'all! Have a great week!

Shopping.....AGAIN!

I'm at it again..... Hope you enjoy my finds as much as I have!

*** I found these REALLY cute black heels....I need some black heels. The ones I have are soooooo uncomfortable! These are great because they could be dressed down or up and the best part....they come in black AND brown! I want BOTH pair! They are from http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/.

*** Here's another pair from Urban Outfitters....they are more casual but really cute! They are $70....a little steep I know.... but the ones that I REALLY love are $128!!! (They are below the silver flats....they are brown)

*** I ABSOLUTELY ADORE these little beauties!!!!! They are the $128 ones....but I would pay that for such happiness!!!

*** I even went shopping for my LITTLE man, Manny! I found and bought this!!! The bed is much needed because his other one fell apart when I washed it and he needed something he can grow into! I am going to get it monogrammed with his name probably in lime green.... SO CUTE! (I just realized that the dog looks JUST like him as well! Too cute!)
*** And finally...... I even took care of my BIG man, Seth.....I know this is soooo boring and domestic but Seth really wants one! So I got him one! It's a portable ice maker that's small enough to fit on the countertop. He thinks that it's the best thing since sliced bread. You put water in it and in about 5 minutes it makes the ice cubes!

*** He really wanted this one....but I WILL NOT put it in my kitchen.... it doesn't match AT ALL!

Playing catch-up.....

Hey y'all! I have been lazy and haven't blogged lately! We had a great Valentine's Day weekend. I hope that all of you did as well! We went to dinner at Bistro on the Bayou in Alexandria on Friday.... check out their website (http://www.bistroonthebayou.com/). It is nestled on the old England Park Air Force Base in Alexandria. I had never been to the Base and it was neat to see it. They also have a REALLY nice boutique hotel there! The restaurant is beside the hotel and it is inside the old Officer's Club! It was all really awesome and the food was FANTASTIC! I had the "Steak Burns" and whipped potatoes with chives. Seth had the Filet Mignon with the potatoes as well! I highly recommend it.
Then on Saturday we went to Shreveport to see 3 Doors Down with my dad and his date. We bought the concert tickets back in September for Daddy's birthday and they postponed the concert until Valentine's Day! It wasn't exactly the way we wanted to spend our V-Day, but it wasn't too bad. We went to the Texas Roadhouse to eat (which is awesome.... I LOVE their steaks) and then we had a room at the Hampton Inn so that we didn't have to drive all the way back to Haughton after the concert......anyway....It was a great weekend and it was WAYYYYYYY too short! Seth and I both had to work the next day! :(

I love surprises!

When I got to work today, I was VERY pleasantly surprised! Hubby sent these flowers to work!!!!! I know that it is 2 days BEFORE Valentine's Day....but we always celebrate it a little early because it's our dating anniversary (February 12th)! We have been together for 5 years!
Our story goes a little something like this: We started out as roomies. I needed a place to rent and my boyfriend at the time (we won't even mention his name....LOL) was Seth's Sigma Nu little brother. So the "then boyfriend" told me that Seth had an available room....I was glad that I had found a place to stay (and not mention I had always thought Seth was a cutie). I moved in not long after that....and we immediately hit it off! Within two weeks we were "dating." Valentine's Day was coming up and I was definitely not expecting a gift because we had not been dating long at all. Well.....2 days BEFORE Valentine's Day... I recieved a gorgeous Tiffany bracelet! I was totally surprised and very excited! My first piece of Tiffany jewelry! YAY!
Anyway.... Hubby can NEVER keep a secret or keep a gift until time to give it. He always gives it to me early...he even gave me my engagement ring early. He had only had the ring for 4 DAYS..... it was burning a hole in his pocket....LOL! Are y'all like hubby or can you wait to give people things???
I hope that y'all have a FABULOUS Valentine's Day! I love you!

Please pray!

Hello everyone! Have you ever had one of those days where you just wanted to run out of the door at work, screaming, and NEVER return! I have had soooooo many of these days! I have had quite a few of them lately unfortunately! But of all the bad days I have.... I always remember that someone is suffering much more than I can ever think about at that very moment....

This is what I thought last night around 10pm when I was at work looking at a few blogs. I had already had a pretty bad day and the I came across a post from http://www.lipstickatthemailbox.com/. She told of the unfortunate story of a 10 month old little girl that was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma. She only survived 2 WEEKS after she was diagnosed! It's sooooo sad! Her sweet young family has a website: http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/. They have a video of the memorial service and I am just crying and crying listening to it right now! It tells the whole story and gives messages from her family! It's just a wonderful celebration of such a YOUNG little life! Here's the link to listen to it: http://gcc-online.org/379611.ihtml
GET THE TISSUES READY!
So everyone please please please remember that just when you think it's bad.....it could be sooooo much worse! Please keep this sweet little family in your prayers! May little Cora Paige have lots of fun playing with Jesus now! Good night everyone! Love y'all!

Shopping.....

I have been looking for a great pair of black and brown summer shoes because Manny has managed to chew mine up ALREADY! I have found the ones above on piperlime.com. The only problem is that they are only in black or red (and they are $135)!I also like this pair. I know it's simple....but that's what I am looking for! This is from piperlime.com and these are $50!
I have been eyeing these since the fall!!! They are now on sale for $50! They were $80! I may have to get these! I could wear them year-round!

I LOVE this tankini from Old Navy! It's sooooo cute but covers my "ugliness!"

I also LOVE this crisp white dress from Old Navy! I may buy it for our annual "beach photo" in Destin in June! So cute and it comes in white, yellow, and PINK!!! I may buy all three....but definitely the white and PINK!

I am getting ready for SPRING and SUMMER! Anyone else ready?? Let me know what type of clothes you like to wear in spring and summer! Y'all have a GREAT day!
